The Blues sold the Dutch defender to Bournemouth in the summer of 2017 after he had spent half a season on the south coast. Ake could never force a way into the first team at Stamford Bridge
with Bournemouth paying a then club record £20m for his services. Chelsea, who could be set to lose Gary Cahill this month, still reportedly consider Ake as one of the best defenders in the
Premier League. And The Sun claim that Chelsea will make a move for Ake, having added a buy-back clause into the original deal. Ake has featured in all 22 of Bournemouth’s matches this
season, though couldn’t help them as Everton beat the Cherries 2-0 today. Ake has scored three goals this season with Manchester United and Manchester City also believed to be interested in
him. Chelsea could be more tempted to make the move with David Luiz coming to the end of his contract this summer. Luiz has made the centre-back position his own under Maurizio Sarri this
season, starting all-but-one of Chelsea’s Premier League fixtures. Brazilian outlet Fox Sports indicate he is now eyeing up a return to Benfica though. Luiz is said to have made rejoining
the Lisbon giants a priority. And he could now sign a pre-contract agreement with them as his Chelsea deal is running down. Luiz is reported to see Champions League regulars Benfica as a
major player in the modern game. Chelsea boss Sarri has previously spoken of his eagerness for the Blues to hand Luiz a new contract beyond the summer. Regarding the Brazilian and
recently-departed Cesc Fabregas, in December Sarri said: "David and Cesc are leaders. "And so I think it's very important for me, for the staff, also for their team-mates, if
they stay with us. "I spoke with the club about this one month ago. I know very well that it's not easy, but I think that we can do a new deal for both. "The club want a short
contract and the players want a long contract. And so it's difficult for this reason. I think at the end we can find a solution. "They are very important players for us. It's
very difficult to find a centre-back for this level. "And it's very difficult to find a central midfielder technically like Fabregas. So I think they have to stay with us."
