Mcgregor v mayweather: john kavanagh reveals why mcgregor will win

McGregor has agreed to trade the Octagon for the boxing ring when he takes on Floyd Mayweather in a money spinning bout in Las Vegas on August 26. The UFC star will be making his debut in

the sport and, coming up against one of the best fighters of all time in Mayweather, means many in the boxing world forebode a difficult night for the Irishman. His coach Kavanagh holds a

different opinion, however, and claims his fighter will upset the odds in Vegas. "I can't envisage another outcome other than Conor stopping him within eight rounds,” he told The

Irish Daily Mirror. "I guess I somewhat understand their [former and current boxers] point of view, not that I remotely agree with it. "But if you didn't have a good

understanding of how Conor's training is normally and you haven't seen him against good boxers, I can sort of see why they might think that and I don't know, I guess boxing is

their baby. "If it was the other way around. Lets say you were interviewing me and you said 'Floyd is going to fight Conor in MMA', I'd literally fall around laughing.

"If you look at Conor's fights, he mostly wins with boxing style techniques anyway.” Kavanagh, who has almost 30 professional fighters on his books, feels McGregor will topple

Mayweather by gaining a mental edge. "I think they've put a massive amount of pressure on Mayweather's shoulders that Conor will thrive off", he said. "You

don't think he's going to be in his face? Talking in his ear, saying 'I'm still here, what's going on? Still here'. "He's going to be talking to the

reporters in the third row during that fight never mind Mayweather, so I can see Mayweather crumbling underneath that.”
