Wilder emphatically knocked out WBC mandatory challenger Dominic Breazeale in the first round on May 18, increasing clamour for him to take on Joshua.
The Brit, who holds the WBO, IBF and WBO world heavyweight titles, faces Andy Ruiz Jr this weekend in his stateside debut at Madison Square Garden and, at the start of fight week, was
talking up the prospect of facing Wilder next in a lucrative undisputed bout.

The Bronze Bomber unofficially announced the fight on social media, saying: “Wilder v Ortiz II [fire emojis] To all my fans, I want to announce that Luis Ortiz and I have signed for a
rematch, with the date and site to be announced shortly.

Wilder defeated Ortiz by ninth-round knockout in a thrilling encounter in March 2018, but there has not been much demand for a sequel.
As a result, the announcement was met with backlash from a large sections of fans, who were disappointed to see further delay to the Joshua fight.
As the comments section filled up, Wilder took some time to reply to fans and, in many responses, suggested the AJ fight will take place next.

“Don’t forget AJ champ he’s saying you didn’t want his 15 million and you better fight him while you can because all he’s doing is getting better [facepalm emoji] but we will see after
Saturday what he’s all about. #bombzquad!!!!!!!” one fan commented.
In response, Wilder posted: “he’s coming too and this I promise [fist emoji]”
Another user questioned, “Why not A.J man??!” to which the Alabama fighter replied: “it will happen trust me.”
“You the [goat emoji] bro!!” began another. “We need to see you unify soon [bomb emoji].”
“and so it shall be done promise [fist emoji],” Wilder replied.
And in one further reply which urged Wilder to “get AJ in the ring and get that easy money dawg!”, the WBC titlist said: “soon trust me.”
Despite the promising responses from the 33-year-old, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn claims the American signed a three-fight deal with Showtime which always had planned fights against
Breazeale, Ortiz and Kownacki.
Head of Sky Sports Boxing Adam Smith invited Wilder to Joshua vs Ruiz but has not yet received a positive reply.
