Sarah, 36, reported live from New Broadcasting House in London to deliver the weather forecast for BBC Breakfast. The BBC weather presenter said that while there won’t be much more snow for

most parts of the country, ice could be an issue. She said: “In some parts of the country there is up to around 20cm of snow, and ice is going to be more a problem today as well because what

we will see is some of that snow starting to thaw out a little bit throughout the day and then re-freezing once the sun sets tonight. “We’re not out of the woods just yet in terms of the

disruption down to the wintry weather but as we head down the course of this week things will start to change a bit. “After that cold, dry start it will be gradually turning a little bit

milder and later in the week there will be the arrival of some rain.” Despite the ice warning, it will be a dry day for most places. “For the here and now this morning most of us are dry, a

bit more cloud across southern England down towards the channel islands with a few flurries of snow around here but most other places look dry. “Plenty of sunshine on offer, breezy across

England and Wales, less windy though for Scotland and Northern Ireland.” Moving on to this afternoon, some places will be able to expect sunshine. “This afternoon it’s certainly looking

drier for the south west of England, wales, through the Midlands and the south east of England too. “Heading northwards, plenty of sunshine breaking through that cloud across northern

England, Scotland and Northern Ireland as well. A bit more cloud just pushing in around the east coast of Scotland and northeast England, but for western Scotland and Northern Ireland it

should feel really quite pleasant out there today with the sunshine and the light winds around too.” Although, Sarah also revealed that for the time of year, the temperatures are still low.

“Temperatures still not doing great for the time of year, so only reaching around three to seven celsius for most of us this afternoon. “But it wont be as cold or as windy as it was through

the weekend and most places stay dry. “On into the evening hours, cloud rolls in on parts of England and Wales too whereas Scotland and Northern Ireland keep the clear skies and the light

winds, so it will be here that the temperatures will be lowest.” _BBC BREAKFAST AIRS WEEKDAYS AT 6AM ON BBC ONE._
