Viewers were left cringing after show bosses included a scene where Walford characters spontaneously performed a track from Stormzy’s number one album. Travis Law-Hughes (played by Alex

James-Phelps) challenged Keegan Baker (Zack Morris) to perform Shakespeare in front of a crowd gathered at the bus stop. Making it easier for his rival classmate, he suggested that he could

perform his favourite Stormzy tune instead. Keegan snapped: “What do you know about Stormzy?” prompting Travis to reply: “Well, I do know that you’re getting way too big for your boots!”

Instantly, the entire around at the bus stop burt into song and performed Stormzy’s Big For Your Boots in unison.  Viewers took to social media to complain at the awkward scene, with one

tweeting: “Painful #Eastenders Stormzy references. Awkward like that time that your Dad said he liked Kasabian.” “Eastenders mentioning stormzy cringiest s**t I've seen. #EastEnders

#BBCOne,” posted another, as a third added: “Haha Keegan got shut down!! #EastEnders.” Another wrote: “That Stormzy part was proper cringe. Them lot made Stormzy sound so dead lol

#EastEnders,” as a fifth said: “Eastenders characters singing Stormzy is a contender for best / worst scene this year #EastEnders.” The latest scenes come amid viewer concerns that the soap

is turning into Waterloo Road due to the number of school scenes and the bullying storyline seemingly at the forefront of the BBC programme. However, fans could not forgive the writers for

trying to appeal to a younger audience and “misrepresenting” them this evening. One soap fan tweeted: “Oh, it's an inaccurate youth representation heavy episode is it? #EastEnders,” as

another wrote: “The bullying scenes with the teenagers on #EastEnders are soooo cringe.” The episode later referenced Sandra Martin from Channel 4 hit Gogglebox. _EASTENDERS CONTINUES

TOMORROW ON BBC ONE AT 7.30PM._
