Strictly Come Dancing 2023: Adam Thomas dealt crushing blow hours before first live show

Adam Thomas has been dealt a crushing blow just hours before the first live show of Strictly Come Dancing.

The 15 celebrity contestants and their dance partners will show off their skills for the first time in a bid to impress the judges.

The first live show will kick off with a stunning group performance from the professional dancers before hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly introduce the judging panel.

There will be no public vote this week, but Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Anton du Beke, and Motsi Mabuse will be on hand to give their feedback.

But which celebrity will wow the judges and who will need to up their game?

In exclusive odds provided by William Hill, Adam and his dance partner Luba Mushtuk could be at risk of being given the boot first as their odds of winning have dramatically dropped since

the launch show last week.

Zara McDermott has also seen her chances slashed since making her debut, while Jody Cundy is a show outsider with odds of 50/1.

However, on the flip side, Bobby Brazier is the frontrunner to lift the Glitterball Trophy this year.

William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “Ahead of tonight's much-anticipated Strictly opener, we’ve seen a lot of backing for Bobby Brazier to win this year’s Glitterball Trophy, with

the Eastenders actor not only our 11/4 favourite but also attracting a whopping percent of all bets placed in the outright winner market.

“Annabel Croft has been another popular selection since last Saturday’s launch show, and we’ve been forced to narrow our price for the former British tennis star to serve up a surprise from

18/1 to 12/1.

“Another contestant making inroads is comedian Eddie Kadi, who was 20/1 before last weekend but is now trading at 9/1 ahead of tomorrow’s episode.”

“Of the more likely winners, Layton Williams has likewise been popular with customers and has shortened from 5/1 to 4/1 at the start of the week, placing him third in the outright winner

market behind Brazier and Angela Scanlon (7/2).”

Discussing who is at risk of leaving the competition early, Lee went on: “At the other end of the scale, Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas has seemingly failed to impress punters and has drifted

significantly from 6/1 to 20/1, with Zara McDermott also going the wrong way from 10/1 out to 12/1.

“Jody Cundy (50/1) has been our least popular selection with customers, attracting only one percent of bets struck.”
