The 50-year-old EastEnders actor, best known for playing Ian Beale on the soap, has hit out at Brexit's impact on Ireland during a guest spot on RTÉ. Adam appeared on The Ray
D'Arcy Show in Ireland at the weekend where the star hit out the UK government over their “ignorance” about Ireland. Speaking to Ray, Adam said: “How can they not have worked out when
they sort of came up with the stupid idea in the first place of putting that question on a piece of paper. “You can't just have yes or no for staying in! It's a little bit more
complicated than that!” Host Ray jibed: “It's your government - you tell them when you go back home!” Adam replied: “Before we even had the vote I said, ‘What are we going to do about
Ireland?’ “Now, if I can work that out, and I'm not a politician, why couldn't they?” Ray quipped: “I don't know the answer. Nobody knows the answer,” as the audience
applauded. The EastEnders actor was appearing on the show to discuss his alcohol business NEAT Gin. However, Adam revealed he was looking for a stockist in Ireland in the hopes of getting
his drink on the shelves. He said: “If you know a stockist who'd like to have it in Ireland, please get in touch! [email protected].” “I’ve discovered that getting it over to Ireland
isn't as easy as you actually think.” Ray then quizzed: “And then, what happens, what might happen [at] the end of March? Might be impossible altogether.” Adam went on to reveal the
real reason behind his gin venture was due to his own uncertainty at the BBC. While he has played Ian since the very first episode of the soap, Adam still doesn’t know when he could be
written out of the script. He explained: “The next contract will be a year. The last one was six months. “It varies. I never look past the date on the contract. Never have. “You have to keep
your eye in and make sure there's something available. So I started making gin! “You never know what's going to happen, do you? So you've got to be safe.” Ray then noted:
“But you're a utility player. They're not going to get rid of Ian Beale, are they?” Adam replied: “You never know. I mean, the raven's got to leave the Tower [of London] at
some point.” _EASTENDERS CONTINUES TOMORROW ON BBC ONE AT 7.30PM._
