Medici season 2 cast: why has the cast of medici been replaced?

Medici: The Magnificent takes place 20 years after the first season Medici: Masters of Florence and follows Cosimo de’Medici’s (played by Richard Madden) grandson Lorenzo de’Medici (Daniel

Sharman). The second run sees Lorenzo deal with the fall out following an attempt on his father Piero’s (Julian Sands) life. Lorenzo then takes control of the family bank and resolves to do

Sperduti portrayed Cosimo’s son in the first run while Julian Sands takes on the role of an older Piero in season two. The notable difference between series is the absence of Cosimo. Medici:
