September 23 2017: why so many prophecies predict world will end

Saturday, September 23 is the day that heralds the start of the end days, according to fundamentalist Christians. The claims are made due to so-called Bible prophecy codes in the Bible and

signs in the heavens which mean The Rapture will soon be upon us. Scores of YouTube doom videos and evangelical websites point to an astrological constellation on September 23 matching

Revelation 12:1–2, which will signal the start of The Rapture and second coming of Christ: The passage 12:1–2 reads: "And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun,

with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of 12 stars. She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth." Conspiracy theorists claim the

woman in question is Virgo, and on September 23, the sun and moon will be in Virgo, as will Jupiter, now being said to represent the Messsiah. This happens every 12 years, but they claim

because of another planetary alignment, representing "the Lion of the tribe of Judah", it is an unprecedented event foretold in scripture. Before going into Virgo, the sun will be

in Leo, at the same time as Mercury, Venus, and Mars are in Leo.  One main purveyor of the theory is fundamentalist Christian David Meade. However, he has managed to merge to two separate

prophecies. The Nibiru or Planet X prophecy claims a mythological planetary system known as Planet X or Nibiru will one day pass Earth triggering earthquakes and volcanoes die to its

gravitational force. He claims the Luke passage means Nibiru will appear in the sky on September 23. Mr Meade claims it will then pass the Earth in October, causing the start of the Rapture

with huge volcanoes and volcanic eruptions due to its gravitational force. He said: “During this time frame, on September 23, 2017, the moon appears under the feet of the Constellation

Virgo. “The Sun appears to precisely clothe Virgo… Jupiter is birthed on September 9, 2017. “The 12 stars at that date include the nine stars of Leo, and the three planetary alignments of

Mercury, Venus and Mars – which combine to make a count of 12 stars on the head of Virgo. “Thus the constellations Virgo, Leo and Serpens-Ophiuchus represent a unique once-in-a-century sign

Christians hold in with the prophecy, and have a much more rational take on what is claimed. In an article entitled "Will the World end on 23 September?" Jonathan Sarfati wrote

that the same planetary coincidence had happened four times in the last millennium, and therefore was not as rare as is being suggested. He said: "As usual with any astrology (or

Christian adaptations of it), one cherry-picks the stars that fit the desired conclusion. "There is nothing to suggest that 23 September is a momentous date for biblical prophecy, and

Christians need to be careful about being drawn into such sensationalist claims.  "We won’t know the day or the hour—so we should be prepared at all times!" in a video posted on

the YouTube channel of the A Rood Awakening International church, former US marine, Michael Rood, said the alignments were not the sign they are being billed as elsewhere. The church is

devoted to "restoring the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith." RELATED ARTICLES Mr Rood said: "The celestial alignment of September 23 is not the great sign of Revelation 12.

  "The date is insignificant on the creator's calendar, but it is the only time this year that the moon actually appears beneath the feet of the woman as it regularly does in this

season. "The almighty governs the Universe according to his calendar and his time clock, not how we manipulate it. Fortunately for us, NASA also says the Planet X theory is a hoax, and

no such system exists or will pass the Earth. NASA scientist Dr David Morrison said: "There is no credible evidence whatever for the existence of Nibiru. There are no pictures, no

tracking, no astronomical observations. "I can quite specifically say how we know Planet X or Nibiru does not exist and does not threaten the Earth."
