BBC Breakfast meteorologist Carol Kirkwood said: “A lot of dry weather to come for most of the UK, a fair bit of sunshine around as well and temperatures today a bit higher than we thought

yesterday. “It could get up to 25C in London. Generally, though we’re looking at about 18 celsius to the low 20s.” The Met Office also forecasts scorching weather to hit the UK on Wednesday.

The companies forecast for Thursday reads: “Sunny and warm for most, but very warm across southern and eastern England. Somewhat cloudier in the west at times, with mist around the coasts,

especially through the Irish Sea.” The red-hot air could produce the hottest day of the year for the UK with some weather models showing temperatures on Thursday reaching 28C. Exacta Weather

forecaster James Madden said: “Many parts of the country can finally look forward to our first burst of summer for this year, with ample amounts of sunny spells and dry weather. “Southern

regions could also see maximum temperatures exceeding the mid to high 20Cs in the best of the sunshine, and there is a chance we could see or get close to the all-time maximum daytime

temperature for April.” Leading bookmaker Ladbrokes have even slashed odds to 6/5 for this month to be the hottest April on record. “It's more good news for Britain on the weather front

this week as odds of a record-breaking April continue to fall,” said Alex Apati of Ladbrokes. WEATHER: BOILING TEMPERATURES TO STAY ACROSS UK BBC Weather forecaster Simon King said

"fine weather" will be predominant for the rest of the week across Britain with plenty of sunshine to be enjoyed. He said: “We start off on Thursday morning with lots of sunshine.

There will be some sea fog and sea mist around the east coasts of England and Wales, up into Scotland and some of that could lap on to the coast around west Wakes and western areas. “Perhaps

along the east and along the south coast as well. A little bit cooler in the north and north-west but temperatures down to central and southern areas higher than today up to 26C. “On Friday

again, lots of sunshine. 24C the temperatures down a touch and into the weekend, again, lots of fine weather.”
