Brutal weather conditions are likely to hit the UK in the coming days as the latest weather maps show several parts of the country peppered with snow for hours. Maps from WXCharts show the

top-most areas in Scotland and the southern areas in England will be the worst impacted. The swing in the weather comes after many areas in the country witnessed a surge in the temperature,

with some parts hitting as high as 16C. An Artic plume will possibly smash the country by noon on March 26 bringing in frost across the UK. Cold weather may start from Scotland and extend to

southeastern and eastern parts of England, maps show. Temperature levels will plummet as low as -3C in some parts of Scotland during that period. Even areas such as Birmingham, Manchester,

Leeds, and Plymouth are likely to witness freezing weather with the mercury falling to -1C and -2C. The snowfall is expected from Wick in the north of Scotland right the way down to

Southampton in a huge east-west split. As much as five inches (12cm) of snow could settle in Scotland, with 5cm in northern England and 1cm in Wales, the maps show. The Met Office’s

long-range forecast between March 22 and 31 also suggests of some “unsettled conditions” during the last leg of the month. The forecast read: “Cloudy across the far south at first on Friday,

with some patchy light rain and drizzle clearing southwards early in the day. "Elsewhere, a mixture of clear or sunny spells and showers. The showers will be heavy at times with a risk

of thunder, and most frequent across the north and northwest. “Through the weekend, northwesterly winds will bring a mixture of sunny spells and showers, some of these heavy. A drier spell

may develop later in the weekend with temperatures likely to be below normal for many areas. “Into the following week, more unsettled conditions will probably develop across parts of the UK,

these most likely to affect southern areas. Northern areas are more likely to be dry but also colder.” TODAY: A fragmenting band of cloud and showers will move east across Scotland, England

and Wales. Otherwise, largely dry with sunny spells, and becoming very mild, especially in the south. Wet and windy weather arriving in the far west later. TONIGHT: Southeast England will

have a largely dry night with clear spells. Meanwhile wet and windy weather in the far west will gradually move eastwards across remaining areas and slowly weaken. TUESDAY: Cloud and some

showery rain will continue to move east across England and Wales, dying out during the afternoon. Otherwise, a lot of dry weather with some sunshine. Mostly mild. OUTLOOK FOR WEDNESDAY TO

FRIDAY: Remaining changeable on Wednesday and Thursday with outbreaks of rain at times, interspersed by some brighter spells. Becoming windy later, then colder with sunshine and blustery

showers on Friday.
