Spring may be on its way but that doesn't mean Britain is poised for clear skies and sunshine - quite the opposite. The UK is set for a flurry of snow and rain at the end of this month, with
weather maps turning multi-coloured to reflect the wide variety of conditions across the land.
According to forecasting platform WX Charts, the day that is likely to bring the most extreme conditions is February 29, but Britons could witness a whole week of blizzards and downpours
across the country.
Northern Britain is to be swallowed by snow from Manchester to the tip of Scotland according to the forecasters. However, it is worth noting that the Met Office maintains that snow forecasts
only become reliable two days from the date in question.
Other areas of the country are due to see a deluge of rain. According to the WX Charts radar, at 6pm on February 29 the south-west of England is set for a downpour. The West Midlands won't
escape the rain, nor will Southampton.

Meanwhile, there are yellow weather warnings in place for today and tomorrow for areas of England and Wales. Today, there is a yellow warning in place for the south-west from Cornwall all
throughout the West Country. The warning extends into South Wales, including Cardiff.
There is a separate weather warning for Leicester and surrounding areas, also for rain. The warning will remain in place 3am on Friday.
The Met Office warns that buses and trains will "probably [be] affected with journey times taking longer". It added that "flooding on roads probably [will be] making journey times longer".
"Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely", according to the forecaster.
