Met Office meteorologist Luke Miall said: “There will be some heavy rain around first thing this morning with the risk of some thunderstorms, as well as quite a warm and a humid feeling if

you're stepping out the door." The Met Office warn of some persistent rain though across eastern and central Scotland that will give some tricky travelling conditions through the

morning, with some thunderstorms likely across northern counties of England. Mr Miall said: “Further south some thunderstorms will break out through central and southern England and perhaps

parts of Wales. “There will be quite a humid feel and if we get any sunshine through the morning those temperatures will rocket up, but through the day you can see further pulses of rain

moving their way northwards." He added: “Throughout Monday weather warnings will remain in force with showers and thunderstorms across Northern Ireland. “On Tuesday on it will be

another hot day, temperatures as high as 28 degrees in south eastern England. “Although it will be much cooler in the northeast of England and we've got an onshore breeze combined with

cloud, making for quite a chilly day across northeast Scotland as we go through Monday evening, then we continue to see some heavy rain and thunder and rain working its way north.” READ

and frequent lightning, leading to hail and gusty winds. It will be generally drier out towards the West with some clear skies. Luke Miall added: “Through midweek we've got a high

pressure moving up to the northwest that's bringing in easterly winds. “So quite a contrast in temperatures from that East Coast compared to parts of the West Country. “You almost

double the difference between one location and the other. “By the end of the week the risk of some low cloud hanging on across those east coasts." But Britain is set to bask in

“record-breaking” temperatures next week, as a hot air mass rising from North Africa drifts across Europe. A UK temperature anomaly chart turns from severe flash floods to baking heat by the

end of the week with temperatures in the south east hitting 31 degrees Celsius.
