Uk weather forecast: heavy downpours to batter britain

Sunday will see a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers across much of the UK. However, there will be much lighter winds today compared to yesterday which will make the conditions

feel more pleasant. Sunday morning will see heavy showers take place across much of Scotland and also parts of Northern Ireland and northern England. But further south, showers will be more

scattered with eastern England experiencing a dry, bright and sunny start to the day. Showers will then make their way into parts of southwest England in the morning. Met Office

Meteorologist Simon Partridge said: “As we head through the day, the showers are going to be grouped into two main areas. “Firstly affecting parts of southern Wales and southwest England.

rash of showers across parts of Scotland throughout the afternoon and again some heavier ones over the higher ground.” However, there will be plenty of sunshine on offer for many parts of

the UK. With lighter winds, temperatures could reach the high teens or even the low twenties as the showers start to ease away through the latter part of the day. When the sun starts to set,

it will be a mostly dry and clear night for many parts allowing temperatures to drop quickly. Monday will see sunshine and showers for many parts of the UK. In the southeast corner, there

will be a band of rain that will move in and be persistent. There are already yellow rainfall warnings out for parts of southeast England.
