Manchester horror: police seal off road after 'possible shooting'

Police were called to Briscoe Lane earlier this afternoon following reports of gun shoots. The shooting is reported to have happened shortly before 1.45pm. Briscoe Lane remains closed while

police investigate. No one is understood to have been injured and no arrests have yet been made. A member of the public is believed to have reported the sound of gun shots to the police. A

spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 1.45pm earlier today (Tuesday 19 January 2021), police were called to Briscoe Lane, Manchester to reports of a possible

firearms discharge. "Further enquiries have since established that three cars were travelling through the area when shots were fired from one of the vehicles towards another. JUST IN:

it is unknown if the car that was fired upon was hit. "A scene remains in place on Briscoe Lane and anybody with information is urged to contact police. "This can be done online

via the force website or by calling 101, quoting incident number 1373 of 19/01/2021. "Anonymous reports can be made via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 111."

Manchester Traffic wrote on Twitter that the road closure is from May Street to Cucheth Lane.
