Liberal Democrat MP Lisa Smart was grilled over the party’s determination to stop Brexit if they came into power. BBC’s Charlie Stayt questioned why the Liberal Democrats refused to listen
to Brexiteers who want out of the European Union following Friday nights election debate. Ms Smart eventually admitted Brexiteers voted out of the EU for very good reasons while at the same
time insisting her party was determined to give the people the choice to stop Brexit from happening. She said: “Jo Swinson did have some tough questions. “And I think all the leaders had
some tough questions and that is a good thing in a healthy democracy. “Jo was completely honest and crystal clear repeated yon Friday night. “She was strong in all her answers. “She
addressed head-on, the issue you have raised about Brexit. DON'T MISS: 'COWARDLY CORBYN!' BREXIT MEP MOCKS LABOUR LEADER “In a democracy sometimes we are going to disagree
with people, that doesn’t mean we have to change our mind because we disagree. “We are standing on a platform of stopping Brexit and using the £50bn Remain bonus to invest in our public
services.” The BBC host replied: “A lot of this stuff will end up on the doorsteps. “So you will be going to someone's house and you knock on the door of someone who voted to leave.
After a slight pause, Ms Smart replied: “We are standing on a platform and giving people a choice at this election. “We are being crystal clear on where we stand. “It is up to people to
decide how they vote and what they are voting on. “For some people, it is all about Brexit but for some people, it is not. “For them, it is about the health service, it is about schools, it
is about who helped them sort their mum's bin collection and was a really good local MP. “It is up to people to decide how they vote, it is not up to us.”
