Charles put 'monarchy above relationship with harry'

Charles recently welcomed his second granddaughter, Lilibet 'Lili' Diana Mountbatten-Windsor to the family on June 4. During his visit to a Mini car factory in Oxford, the Prince

of Wales said the arrival of baby Lili was "such happy news". He said: "Something I am only too aware of today, having recently become a grandfather for the fifth time.

could help heal tensions between Harry and Charles, following the fallout of the Duke of Sussex’s explosive claims about his upbringing and in particular, the neglect he felt from his father

as he was growing up. Prince Charles was accused of being an absent father that was "trapped in the system" of the Royal Family by his son Prince Harry. He was also accused of

"cutting Harry off" after the two had a telephone conversation. Previous reports have suggested that the pair have had a turbulent relationship over Harry's experiences

growing up in the royal household and dealing with his mental health. In the documentary 'Prince Charles & Harry: Father & Son Divided' royal correspondent Daisy McAndrew

explained how Charles' decision to chose the crown over Harry would have been badly received by the Sussexes. Ms McAndrew said: "Charles would have known that it was going to

damage their relationship. "He put what he saw as the greater good of the monarchy and the Royal Family above his personal relationship with his son." However, royal expert Angela

conversation. A royal source told The Telegraph the Duke of Sussex and his father were in “regular contact” following the birth of Lili. It is understood the father and son have been

speaking frequently and that their relationship has healed somewhat following Prince Harry’s comments over the past months. Back in March, Prince Harry revealed the strenuous relationship he

had with his father - admitting he felt “really let down”.
