Prince Philip ‘did everything he could to help’ Harry & William with ‘no-nonsense' tactic

Prince William and Prince Harry's "different paths" managed to cross again for the funeral of Prince Philip, a royal expert has said. HeirPod host and ABC News Royal Contributor Omid Scobie

spoke about the Duke of Edinburgh's significance in lives of his grandsons. The late royal is said to have done "everything he could" for the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex.

Mr Scobie told listeners: "I think we've seen the brothers on such different paths for such a long time.

"They were two brothers that simply were grieving the loss of their grandfather.

"A grandfather who had really been the pillar of the family at many times."

He continued: "Including the very dark days following the death of Princess Diana.

"He was the one that really supported Harry and William up in Scotland, keeping them preoccupied.

"He did everything he could as a grandfather to help his grandchildren.

"Of course he's a man himself who had experienced that separation from a mother."

The royal commentator added: "His own mother was committed to an asylum for three years when he was just 10 years old.

"So I think he's always done his bit to look out for William and Harry.

"We've heard a lot about his no-nonsense attitude, especially when it comes to matters of the family."

Mr Scobie told the podcast: "I think that's exactly what he would have wanted, no matter what might happen in the days ahead

"For that day, it was about getting on with it, and that's exactly what they all did."

He also gave insight into the "input" that royals have had in Philip's funeral and post-funeral endeavours.

The ABC News Royal Contributor noted that all of the family members had been seen to be involved in their own ways throughout the week.

Even those unable to attend contributed to the day, such as Meghan Markle sending a wreath and card.
