The Duke and Duchess of Sussex christened their son in an intimate ceremony in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday. After the ceremony, they released two official portraits of

the big day to share with their fans. But eagle-eyed social media users were quick to notice Kate was wearing Princess Diana’s Collingwood Pearl earrings, which she wore to Harry’s

christening. Some fans were not impressed with this move, as they suggested Kate was trying to “upstage” Meghan. One person said on Twitter: “I think Kate wanted to upstage Meghan. With all

the earrings at Kate’s disposal, why did she wear the ones that Diana wore during Harry’s christening? Personally I would have given Meghan the earrings.” Another commented: “Attention

seeking at a Sussex Family event. Meghan would be roasted for this type of tacky move. Evoking Diana’s special moment with Harry at his son’s christening? This simply wasn’t her role.” A

third person said: “In all honesty I think Kate was a tad bit disrespectful and spiteful. “She didn’t have to come there dressed the way she was and sporting Princess Diana’s earrings. I

believe she did that intentionally to upstage Meghan’s special moment.” Meghan also wore an array of accessories at her son’s christening. This included her £12,000 Cartier diamond earrings,

which she wore at her wedding to Prince Harry last May. This may have been a way for Meghan to show how important the day was by linking the two important events together, stylist Rochelle

White told Mail Online. It is believed only 25 guests attended the christening on Saturday. This included Harry’s former nanny Tiggy Legge Bourke.  The official family portrait featured

Harry and Meghan, who is holding Archie, along will the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Doria Ragland and Diana’s sisters Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah

McCorquodale. The ceremony was conducted by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby and he christened Archie using water from River Jordan. Despite not revealing the names of Archie’s

godparents, the couple still thanked them on their Instagram account. They said: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have

been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son. “They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment. “Their Royal Highnesses feel

fortunate to have enjoyed this day with family and the godparents of Archie.”
