Royal fans from across the globe caught their first glimpse of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son on Wednesday. The proud parents revealed their firstborn to the world during a photocall

at St George’s Hall at Windsor Castle. Not long after, the couple also shared on Instagram, declaring their son had been named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. But the royal couple

failed to give their firstborn child a royal title - and the reason is heartbreaking, according to one expert. British journalist and royal author Penny Junor said the decision not to use a

title for Archie was inspired by Prince Harry’s own struggles growing up as a royal. Ms Junor said the Duke of Sussex would have “dearly liked to have been a normal boy” growing up. And now

great-grandchildren. But the Queen issued a Letter’s Patent declaring all children of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge royals titled “prince” or “princess” in 2012 - and could have done so

for Archie as well. However, his parents could have opted for an Earl or Lord title. As a courtesy title, Archie could have taken Earl of Dumbarton, one of his dad Prince Harry’s own titles.

Ms Junor said of the decision: “It’s exactly what I would have expected from Harry. “He would have dearly liked to have been a normal boy growing up and found his title very difficult. “I

think that his choice for his son is to let him have the kind of life that he didn’t have.”
