added that the Queen would have been likely to reject the match a few years earlier due to Harry’s notorious party lifestyle. The royal author said: “If he had come to see Grannie a few

years earlier when he had an unenviable reputation as an angry drunk with poor judgement, it would have been doubtful that the Queen would have agreed to him marrying a divorced American

actress. “Harry’s transformation over the last few years has, together with the popular union between Prince William and Kate Middleton, secured the future of the monarchy.” Harry and Meghan

went on to announce their engagement in November 2017. Speaking in their engagement interview, Meghan discussed having tea with the Queen, describing the monarch as an “incredible woman”.
