Latest reports suggest WhatsApp is now used by over 1.5billion people across the planet. However, a big new update looks set to boost its popularity even further with this app now available

on more devices. KaiOS powers millions of feature phones across the world including some of the latest Nokia call makers. Until now, it wasn’t possible to access WhatsApp from these phones

but that’s just changed. From today, more KaiOS owners will be able to download this app with the team behind the service saying WhatsApp will now reach millions of new users across Africa,

WhatsApp was first launched on the KaiOS-powered JioPhone in India in September of 2018 but it will slowly start rolling out to more phones including the hugely popular Nokia 8110. Although

it’s not as popular as Apple iOS or Google Android, KaiOS still powers more than 100 million devices shipped worldwide, in over 100 countries. The platform enables a new category of devices
