The royal baby of Kate Middleton, 36, is expected any day now, with many speculating about potential baby names. Kate’s due date is on Monday 23 April, just two days away. The Duchess of
Cambridge will be giving birth to her third child with Prince William, 35. As the date approaches, a betting expert has revealed his suspicions that “someone knows something” about the royal
baby name. Alex Apati, a representative from Ladbrokes, told Express.o.uk that last minute changes in betting odds might mean “Kate has given the game away.” The suspicion follows a
shocking turn in betting odds about the child’s name and gender. While Alice was once the favourite baby name, and betters seemed sure it would be a girl, this has all changed. Now Arthur, a
boys’ name, is the favourite choice with odds of 5/1 according to the latest betting with Ladbrokes, after being slashed from 12/1 in a week. What’s more, now four names are at the top of
the betting odds: Arthur (5/1), Mary (6/1), Alice (7/1) and James (8/1). Today no other names have odds shorter than 10/1, meaning these four are the clear favourites among betters. Alex
suggested the last minute popularity of the name Arthur might point to insider knowledge. “Of those four names, James has taken a steady flow of bets since Kate's pregnancy was
announced, while Arthur has been the subject of a flurry of bets over the last seven days. “Has Kate given the game away? We're not sure, but to see such a dramatic shift in the odds at
this late stage suggests someone somewhere might know something so we're taking no chances!” Alex also pointed out the change of heart regarding the suspected gender of Kate's
baby. He said: “It's all change in the betting and with days to go before Kate gives birth, punters now seem to think the Royals will be welcoming a baby boy into the family.” “With
every other name aside from Arthur, Alice, Mary and James being 10/1 or bigger, we're narrowing it down to just those four at this stage. Punters' interest in the rest of the pack
has been sparse and we've seen nothing to suggest the name will be anything else.” Finally, he reminded of the accuracy of previous betting odds for the names of Kate’s children Prince
George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 2. He said: George was a strong market leader back in 2013 so it was no surprise when the name was announced, as for Charlotte it was a toss-up between
that and Alice back in 2015.” Earlier this week, the towncrier who announced Kate’s last birth suggested a different potential royal baby name. Towncrier Tony Appleton, 81, who announced the
birth of the previous two royal babies of Kate and Prince William, revealed his expectations for their child. The insider said the baby would be a boy called Philip. Bookies' odds for
the name Philip currently stand at 16.1 according to Ladbroke's betting figures.
