NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THIS BUT I’M VERY GOOD AT… the After Eight challenge. This is where you put an After Eight in the middle of your forehead and you’re not allowed to touch it, but you

use your facial muscles to get it down to your mouth without dropping it. I’m the best in our family at it. I discovered this one Christmas after drinking port. MY BEST FRIEND IS… I’ve got

about four really good mates, but my absolute best friend is Steph – she knows me better than anybody and can read me like a book. MY NICKNAME IS… Schofe. That’s come from social media, I

guess. THE BRAVEST THING I’VE EVER DONE IS… I could say doing the highest abseil in the world or swimming with sharks [for This Morning], but maybe the biggest risk I ever took was

performing in Joseph. Standing on stage at the Palladium, not knowing whether or not I was actually going to destroy a West End show. MY FAVOURITE TV SHOW IS… currently the new Kiefer

Sutherland series Designated Survivor. I was an enormous fan of The West Wing and House Of Cards, and this is that with an extra peril so I like that. And Kiefer is pretty cool – I think

he’d make a very good president, actually. MY PERFECT EVENING IS… when the four of us – me, Steph, Molly and Ruby – are together and the fire is lit and there’s a bottle of wine on the go

and we’re all sitting around chatting. Maybe with a homemade risotto or paella, too. Nothing fancy – just the four of us. I’D LIKE TO SAY SORRY TO… the lady in the Waitrose car park who was

standing looking at the ticket machine and then in her bag, and then at the machine, and then at her bag, and I stood there waiting for quite a while before I lent forward, said “excuse me”

and put my money in the machine, pressed the button and took the ticket. And as I walked away she said, “I had 30 pence in that,” and she was actually looking for the final 10 pence in her

purse. I shamefully pretended I didn’t hear her, so I’d like to say sorry to her. This happened about a year ago. MY FIRST KISS WAS… in the Wendy house at my infants school. MY BIGGEST

REGRET IS… not learning to play a musical instrument. I would have loved to have played the piano, or the guitar is great because it’s portable and you’ve always got mates if you’ve got a

guitar. If you rock up and get a guitar out, everybody loves you. THE ONE THING I’D CHANGE ABOUT MYSELF IS… my short fuse. Although I wouldn’t make it that much longer. But to give me a

little more patience. THE BEST THING MY PARENTS TAUGHT ME WAS… how to be a good parent. They were justthe best – loving, caring, thoughtful, kind, generous, everything you want. It

definitely helped me to be a good parent as well – hopefully the girls would agree. THE LAST TIME I CRIED WAS… the last time there was a sad advert or trailer on TV. I’ll cry at anything – I

am genuinely useless. I don’t know if it’s getting worse, but it’s just terrible. The Davina McCall show This Time Next Year when the guy got his stammer under control – I was in floods

with that. THE FIRST RECORD I EVER BOUGHT WAS… _Without You_ by Nilsson. IT’S NOT GOOD FOR MY IMAGE BUT I LIKE… packet food. Just occasionally, it’s really nice to have something that you

just have to pour hot water on. It could be a Cup a Soup, Pot Noodle or Vesta – the chow mein one is the best. I mean, I’m really lucky, I have eaten in some of the best places in the world,

but sometimes there’s just something really comforting about a Bombay Bad Boy flavour Pot Noodle. MY GREATEST WEAKNESS IS… wine. I don’t ever, and have never – even as a teenager – drink to

get drunk. There are often times when I would really love to be able to drink lots more and it not to have an effect because I just love the smell and I love the taste, and I don’t want to

stop because I just like drinking it. So wine discovery is definitely my greatest weakness. IF I COULD PASS ANY LAW I WOULD… ban inheritance tax. They get enough of our money throughout our

lives, we pay tax on every single penny and then they take it off us when we die. THE SHOP I CAN’T WALK PAST IS… the Apple store. There’s always something in there I want, whether it’s a new

gadget or a phone case. I always think I need a charger when I probably don’t. I like the smell when you go in. THE MOST EXPENSIVE THING I’VE EVER SPLASHED OUT ON IS… our house. One of the

greatest gifts I got from doing Joseph – other than the incredible West End experience and making some really lovely friends – was the fact that it paid off my mortgage. We’ve been there for

around 25 years now and the kids have grown up there. Apart from that, I don’t think I’m really extravagant, apart from maybe some wine that I’ve been known to buy at auction that’s perhaps

shocked Steph a little. MY PERFECT SUNDAY IS… sitting down with family and having one of my wife’s faultless Sunday roasts. She is so good at Sunday roasts. We get a chicken from a local

butcher’s, and my eldest daughter loves beef so if she comes round we might have roast beef. We try to do that every Sunday. Everyone helps out – I’ll chop the veg or peel the spuds –

although I’m more of a clearer and like to tidy away. PHILLIP SCHOFIELD SLAMS BENEFITS MUM FOR BEING "INCENDIARY" MY FAVOURITE PLACE IN BRITAIN IS… Cornwall. My heart and soul lift

when I drive past the sign that says “welcome to Cornwall” on the A30 and I feel about a stone lighter. It’s definitely where my heart lies and I know that I’m moments away from a stunning

beach and a pasty. MY LAST HOLIDAY WAS… in South Africa with Steph. Partly for work, but I had a few days when it was just the two of us. It was a fantastic trip and you’ll be able to see

some of it on This Morning. I’M CURRENTLY READING… nothing at the moment. I read more in the summer than at any other time. And it could be anything – biographies, things that people have

recommended – but I prefer thrillers with spies and assassins. THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE WAS… bringing my dad back to life [through CPR] when he had his heart attack, meaning we could enjoy

more years together with him. And also my brother last Christmas who also had a heart attack and having the doctors say, “We think he’s going to be all right.” And that took two weeks, so it

was a long wait but that was a pretty good day. I don’t think there is a personal achievement that ever beats something as big as that. If I had half an hour left on Earth I would… go down

to the wine cellar and drink all the stuff I’ve been saving. Then, depending on what it is that’s going to happen (and if it was just going to happen to me) then it’d be nice to gather

everyone around and have a big party. Or if it was going to happen to all of us, I’d make sure we all have some amazing wine and could sit somewhere high up to watch the view. It’d be the

one time I wouldn’t have to worry about the mess or clearing up.  _SCHOFIELD’S SOUTH AFRICAN ADVENTURE WILL AIR DURING THIS MORNING ON TUESDAYS FROM 10.30AM ON ITV._
