Aldi: mum discovers little known supermarket extra to save money

Aldi supermarket often has deals every week to help their customers reduce their weekly shop cost. This includes the ‘Super 6’ deal on fresh fruit and vegetables each week as well as

Specialbuys which are launched twice a week. However one savvy shopper has shared a secret way customers can save even more money.  “Usually that weeks meals are at the top but if you want

an alternative (this week I swapped out whole chicken for pork joint) you can just put ‘pork’ into search on website, select ‘recipes’ instead of the default, which I think is ‘in store’ and

you can track down the recipes they use. “So this week I used a list they published a few weeks ago, but I could still track down the menu by searching on ingredients - we are looking

forward to chicken enchiladas, veg tart, seafood paella, cod, sweet potato fries and mango and just enjoyed excellent roast pork which will also do sandwiches for work. De nada!” The savvy

shopper also pointed out that you could swap certain ingredients and shared how she managed to switch a chicken recipe for the pork one.  Aldi fans were quick to rush to the comments to

can choose from different cuisines. This can help those who struggle with cooking as the step by step guide is super easy to follow and it includes cuisines like Italian, Spanish and Indian.

It also gives you the option to select what meal you wish to make, whether that be breakfast, lunch or dinner. Another commented sharing how she manages to feed her family for just £30.

Their Specialbuys aisle is placed in the middle of the supermarket where customers can find anything from kitchen appliances, to furniture to home DIY kits.  Aldi explained: “Specialbuys

were launched online in 2016. They seem to get better and better each year, with the most popular ever being the Hanging Egg Chair this year, selling out in approximately four minutes.” To

date, the most requested Specialbuys item to bring back into stores was an outdoor log burner from 2019. It was selling for £59.99 and was relaunched into stores this year after popular

demand.  However they took to their Twitter to share that the name of the aisle is changing. The tweet read: “This is the Aisle of Aldi. A special place for Specialbuys. Full of
