Joe wicks: the body coach's surprising 'rockstar' hobby revealed

Joe Wicks has become a mainstay in living rooms across the UK. After Britons went under the coronavirus lockdown towards the end of March, schools shut down, with many parents forced to work

from home. Joe took it upon himself to extend his already well-established fitness franchise to the role of PE teacher, broadcasting 20 minute exercise lessons to primary-aged school

children every day. In the first week on the lockdown alone, a staggering six million people tuned in to get fit. Known as The Body Coach, Joe has slowly risen to fame within the fitness and

health world over the past few years. His first book, ‘Lean in 15’, was published in 2015. It was instantly a hit, selling millions of copies across the nation. Although disciplined and

extremely focused, Joe too likes to unwind in his spare time. The fitness guru revealed his hobby during an episode of the BBC radio show ‘The Food Programme’ last year. Host Sheila Dillon

where I come to relax. “I’m an amateur, but it does look great because I’ve got three beautiful guitars, so it’s all an illusion.” In 2016, Joe became the UK’s best-selling non-fiction

author. His success was initially underestimated by his book publishers who never imagined he would sell in excess of a million copies. Later during the podcast, Joe showed Ms Dillon the

award he received for such a feat. He said: “This is my gold pan for when I sold a million books. “They said ‘if you sold 70,000 copies we would have been happy, it would have been a win, we

would have made our money back’. “And I sold 700,000 copies in about six, seven months. “They were chuffed. “That’s why they signed me to an 8 book deal.” Joe is thought to be worth a

staggering £14.5million with several broadcasters looking to sign the fitness fanatic.
