SAINSBURY'S ASDA MERGER HAS 'EXTENSIVE CONCERNS' SAYS CMA Greggs, Aldi, ASDA, Waitrose and Morrisons have been forced to pull items off their shelves, due to safety risks to


their customers. Shoppers are being advised not to consume any of these products and instead return them to the store, where they’ll be given a full refund. The Foods Standard Agency has


issued advice to consumers concerning the affected items, which are all impacted by health and safety risk fears. Morrisons customers are also being told to exercise caution, and Waitrose


shoppers are being urged to check their cupboards too. A number of food alerts have been sent out in the past fortnight from some big name brands. So which items are affected? RELATED

ingredient, which wasn’t mentioned on the label, has been discovered in it. The product contains wheat, which wasn’t declared on the packaging, meaning it is a possible health risk for


anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten. The item in question is the 150g Sour Cream and Chive Mix, and customers are being asked to look out for items with the best before


date code of 21 December 2019. At present, no other Waitrose items are known to be affected. Any customers who have an allergy to wheat must not eat the product, but instead return it to a


local branch where they’ll receive a full refund. For any further information, customers have been advised to contact Waitrose’s Customer Care line on: 0800 188 881 and select option 4.

Soupologie. Soupologie says it has taken the precautionary step of recalling three varieties of soup because they may contain Listeria monocytogenes. The items in question include the


Soupologie five a day Classic Tomato with Carrot & Red Pepper Soup, the Soupologie Broccoli, Pea & Basil Soup and the Soupologie Pea & Leek Soup. Customers are being advised to


look out for 600g pack sizes with the best before date code: 2 October 2019. If this item has been bought, it shouldn’t be eaten, but returned to the store of purchase for a full refund. No


receipt is needed. SAINSBURY’S Sainsbury’s have issued a warning amid allergy fears. A notice has been sent out for Naturli’ Organic Vegan Spreadable, which is sold in the supermarket. The


Food Standards Agency said: “Naturli’ Foods is recalling Naturli’ Organic Vegan Spreadable because it may contain milk which is not mentioned on the label. “This means the product is a


possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.” The affected pack is 225g and has a use by date of between 30 August 2019 and 27 November 2019.

possibly contain metal. Struik Foods Bunlimited Crispy Onions, which are sold at the national supermarket, have issued an urgent warning as this product may have small pieces of metal in it.


The presence of the metal makes it unsafe to eat, and customers must be made aware. The item, in question is 100g Bunlimited Crispy onions. Customers are being asked to look out for items


with the best before date code of 11 June 2020. AMAZON Sunburst Snacks Ltd are recalling their Spicy Cashews because they may contain mustard and celery which are not mentioned on the label.


This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to celery and/or an allergy to mustard. Affected pack sizes include: 45g, 65g, 150g, 160g, 170g. Customers are
