An upgraded performance version of the regular TT two-door model, in both hardtop Coupé and convertible Roadster guises, the TT RS is fitted with Audi's long-established 2.5-litre
five-cylinder TFSI engine, which now produces 394bhp - which makes it the most powerful production TT ever built. This output enables it to turn in a hugely impressive 3.7-second 0-62mph
time (or 3.9 seconds in the Roadster version), which makes it considerably faster (relatively speaking) than most variants of the Porsche 911. Top speed is limited to 155mph, but owners can
choose to raise that to 174mph, with the optional the optional Dynamic Package Plus. The TT RS is also fitted with a seven-speed S tronic automatic gearbox and Audi's quattro
four-wheel-drive system. One of the ways in which the TT RS marks itself out from regular car is the fixed rear wing sitting on two thin double struts. If buyers consider it a little to
lary, however, they can swap this for the automatically extending spoiler on regular TT models, with downforce unaffected. Visually, the exterior of the TT RS also features such as large air
inlets, a singleframe grille with a new honeycomb lattice design and quattro logo, aerodynamically-shaped side sills, a rear bumper with profiled diffuser insert, four vertical fins and
large elliptical exhaust tailpipes. Another new feature is the Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode rear lights - a first for Audi - which emit a homogeneous, high-contrast light that can be
continuously dimmed, does not cast shadows and does not require any reflectors. There are nine standard colours, including Nardo grey and Catalunya red, which are exclusive to the RS. In the
cabin, the sports seats are finished in Nappa leather, while the steering wheel is covered in Alcantara suede. Equipment includes the Audi virtual cockpit, a 12.3-inch screen in front of
the driver that displays all the information from the MMI infotainment system, including navigation. The Audi Connect connectivity system - which offers a range of online services via a SIM
card embedded in the car - is also controlled via the MMI system. Prices for the TT RS start at £51,800, with first deliveries expected at the end of the year.
