Coronavirus has not yet shut down Eurotunnel services from Folkestone meaning those who have had flights delayed can still travel by driving. Driving in France is still allowed as there are
currently no Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) travel bans in place. A spokesperson for Eurotunnel confirmed to Express.co.uk services to France were remaining as normal for the time
being. In a statement on their website, Eurotunnel confirmed journeys were unaffected although advice was being taken from local authorities. It said: "Eurotunnel Le Shuttle services
are unaffected. We continue to take guidance from the Department for Transport, and Public Health England. "We are also staying up to date with French government advice. If you are
based in another country, please look at the advice your government is currently providing." READ MORE: Can you still drive in France after Brexit? Eurotunnel has confirmed motorists
can amend their booking for free up to 24 hours before departure. They confirmed most tickets could be used a full year from their initial purchase date and bookings could be made online
for that worried about travelling due to COVID-19. The group have confirmed they have implemented additional cleaning procedures on services but urge those forced to self-isolate to not
travel. HAVE ROADS BEEN CLOSED IN FRANCE? Currently, no roads have been closed in France and UK motorists are free to travel around the country without restrictions. Over the weekend,
French President Emmanuel Macron implemented widespread closures across leisure activities but so far transport is unaffected. DON'T MISS CORONAVIRUS UK: RAIL SERVICES TO BE SUSPENDED

AFFECTED? Italy has introduced some minor travel restrictions which require citizens to demonstrate an urgent need to leave the areas where they live. People are allowed to travel across
the country for work or health reasons but personal trips are unlikely to be accepted. These measures have been put into place to curb the spread of COVID-19 from highly infected northern
regions. These type of travel restrictions are not yet in place across other European countries but could be considered if the outbreak worsens in the coming weeks. WHAT ABOUT INSURANCE?
Car and travel insurance could be affected by travelling abroad during the coronavirus outbreak. According to RAC Drive, it is highly unlikely insurers will cover a trip to an area affected
by the virus. The Association of British Insurers confirms travelling against government advice will likely invalidate policies which could leave you forced to pay expensive repair bills
in a car crash. However, this is based on advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) which so far has not put any travel advice on the French region. WHAT DO I NEED TO DRIVE IN
FRANCE? The UK left the European Union on 31 January 2020 and some changes to driving abroad in Mainland Europe are expected. However, the transition period means motorists will not see
changes come into effect from until 31 December 2020. After this date, motorists may be required to travel with an International Driving Permit and car insurance green card. These are
internationally recognised documents which motorists may need after the transition period and must be obtained before setting off for France.
