The Last of Us is set to get a sequel from Naughty Dog this year, as Sony announced The Last of Us Part 2 at E3 2018. Following on from the events of the first game back in 2013, The Last of

Us Part 2 will reunite players with Joel and Ellie on their adventure in the exclusive PS4 game.  Sony revealed a gameplay trailer that showed off more of the classic stealth fans expect

from the series, with Ellie taking on a gang under cover of darkness.  Fans have waited more than five years since the first game but will be hoping they can pick up The Last of Us 2 soon,

despite having been in development for more than two years already.  WHAT IS THE LAST OF US PART 2?  The Last of Us Part 2 will be the next game in the popular series from developers Naughty

Dog.  Sony revealed a lot of information on the new PS4 game at E3 last night, particularly some of the new stealth mechanics that made the first game so popular.  The third person action

adventure game from 2013 saw players take on the role of Joel a smuggler and a teenage girl called Ellie in a post-apocalyptic America. Zombie-like creatures are scattered throughout the

world, chasing down any noise they hear, as the pair make their way across the country.  The game became an instant hit among fans for its incredible story-telling and graphical quality.  It

achieved critical success, winning several accolades including multiple Game of the Year awards and is now considered one of the greatest video games of all time.  The Last of Us Part 2

will follow on directly from the first game, following Ellie as she comes to terms with the events of the first game.  Gameplay revolves around stealth and outsmarting enemies throughout the

map, moving quietly to get the upper hand. Players can craft weapons and ammo to tackle the obstacles before them. From the trailer debuted at E3 2018, we see Ellie enjoying a party with

friends before kissing her girlfriend, the newly developed character Dina. The trailer evolves into a bloodthirsty hunt and escape, with Ellie ripping through several enemies in a series of

bloody encounters that end with the beheading of a sledgehammer-wielding thug.  The game feels tense and claustrophobic, with players expected to be patient and intelligent to make their way

through the game.  WHEN WILL THE LAST OF US PART 2 BE RELEASED IN THE UK AND US? Despite The Last of Us Part 2 being announced by Naughty Dog more than two years ago, there is still no news

from the developers on an official release date.  Sony’s E3 2018 stage show revealed a brand new trailer that unveiled some new stealth mechanics -including the ability to go prone when

moving quietly around - but did not shed any detail on when the game will come out.  The trailer showed audiences a small 10-minute snippet of gameplay, but it has been suggested that The

Last of Us Part 2 could still be a few years away from release.  The game incorporates motion capture technology to record real emotions from its actors, which has evidently delayed

development more than anticipated.  However, in a recent interview with Argentinian radio station Vorterix, The Last of Us Part II's composer Gustavo Santaolalla stated the title is

planned to launch exclusively for PS4 in 2019. This has not been confirmed by the studio or by anyone at Sony and could be outdated information, but fans will certainly be hoping for a

release date sooner rather than later.
