Injustice 2 Sub Zero gear revealed following latest PS4 and Xbox One update

The most recent Injustice 2 update added a lot of bug fixes and character rebalancing tweaks.

It’s also made it possible for fans to check out some of the new Injustice 2 Sub Zero gear coming to the game.

The Mortal Kombat veteran is being shipped into Injustice 2 later this month, with a July 11 release date already confirmed.

While fans wait to check out the new moves and abilities of the lethal cryomancer, the character select roster screen should now allow players to have a peek at some of the new outfits.

Fans have been spending some time going through all the different gear and shaders that can be equipped, with a 10-minute video on YouTube dedicated to showing off as many different loadouts

as possible.

A couple of different character variations have already been spotted by fans, with the likes of Reptile and Noob Saibot getting nods.

Sub Zero will be the first crossover character from the Mortal Kombat series but might not be the last.

Netherrealm Studio have also teased that Raiden may make an appearance in a later DLC pack, having been spotted as a silhouette in the character roster lineup.

Sub Zero is a lethal cryomancer and leader of the reformed Lin Kuei clan. When Sub-Zero was younger, the Lin Kuei were corrupted and destroyed from within, staining their honor. 

“Now serving as Grandmaster, Sub-Zero vows to redeem that honor, pledging to defend the realm from threats near, far, and beyond,” the official character description explains.

“In the intergalactic menace Brainiac, Sub-Zero sees a threat to all worlds, and perhaps his greatest opportunity for redemption yet.”

One big change is that Injustice 2's Sub Zero will have access to a new ice clone ability, which was shown during an E3.

Injustice: Gods Among Us also included a MK fighter, Scorpion, with Sub Zero's getting his new look from the same designer, comic book artist Jim Lee.

"Jim Lee is one of the co-publishers at DC and he's also an amazing artist, so we just wanted to go full circle with that and have a DC Comics representation of a Mortal Kombat character,"

Boon revealed during E3.

"We did the same thing with Scorpion in the first Injustice game.

"We really wanted to see how an Injustice version of a Mortal Kombat player [would] fit into the game."

Sub Zero is part of Fighter Pack DLC 1, which also adds Red Hood and Starfire.
