Apex Legends UPDATE: Leak reveals highly anticipated feature for PS4, Xbox One and PCs

Apex Legends is the latest free-to-play battle royale game for PS4, Xbox One and PCs.

The latest title from Respawn and EA - which is a spin-off from the Titanfall series - was announced on Monday with a surprise release date that day.

In its first eight hours Apex Legends was played by over one million unique players.

And since the Apex Legends launch there’s been one feature that many fans have been talking about - ranked play.

While this currently isn’t available in Apex Legends, a new leak suggests it could be getting added by Respawn soon.

In a post online Twitter user @StoutFN_ discovered in-game code which suggested the incoming arrival of ranked play.

The files which suggest ranked play is coming to Apex Legends are called “rankedplay_display_enabled ‘0’” and “rankeplay_voice_enabled ‘0’”.

The news has got plenty of Apex Legends fans excited, with Team Liquid’s Poach tweeting about it.

The esports player posted: “Just saying apex has a ranked mode leaked in game files”.

Poach’s tweet about Apex Legends ranked play was liked more than 3,000 times.

Responding to the post, one fan tweeted: “So even Apex has league play before BO4”.

Another posted: “Dang, the game hasn't been out for a week yet and beat Fortnite to it after a year”.

While Apex Legends has only just launched, another big release is already around the corner.

After the Apex Legends launch a year one roadmap was revealed by Respawn showing what fans have in store for the rest of the year.

For the rest of 2019 there will be four new battle passes released for Apex Legends - each with new legends, weapons and loot.

The Apex Legends season 1 Battle Pass is coming in March, with season 2 in June and season 3 in September.

The final Apex Legends battle pass for 2019 - season 4 - will be released in December.
