Sachs, 86, was best known for his role as the hapless Spanish waiter Manuel in the seventies comedy series, constantly berated by his boss Basil Fawlty, played by John Cleese. Figures


released by the probate office in Newcastle upon Tyne reveal that he died without a will, leaving an estate totaling £92,102. Under the rules of intestacy, this will go to his widow Melody


after a marriage which lasted 57 years. Andrew Sachs had a long running and successful career on the television, radio and stage, playing roles in the Saint, Doctor Who, Casualty, The


History of Mr Polly, as well as a radio version of Jeeves and Wooster. But he was best known as Manuel in Fawlty Towers, with a bushy moustache and scared eyes - and sometimes the fright was
