The film director said he was "easing his way back" into social media. After news of David's death was announced, Duncan Jones told fans he would be "offline for a
while". He has now returned to Twitter to thank his followers for their continued support. He reassured them "everything is good" as he shared a drawing of three hands giving
the thumbs up sign. Duncan wrote: "Hi all. Just wanted to thank you for the incredibly kind words & thoughts. I'll be easing my way back into Twitter." The tweet came
after he temporarily broke his silence to share a poignant letter from a Welsh doctor a week after David's death. In the note, he described David as an inspiration for those battling
life-ending illnesses. Dr Taubert wrote: "At the beginning of that week I had a discussion with a hospital patient, facing the end of her life. "We discussed your death and your
music, and it got us talking about numerous weighty subjects, that are not always straightforward to discuss with someone facing their own demise. "In fact, your story became a way for
us to communicate very openly about death, something many doctors and nurses struggle to introduce as a topic of conversation."
