Allegations of sexual misconduct against TV star Gregg Wallace continue to grow with fury mounting from BBC viewers equally escalating. Last week, the MasterChef judge stepped back from his

role after it was reported that he had made sexual comments and allegedly groped colleagues and contestants. It has now been reported that the British broadcaster received complaints about

the 60-year-old in 2014 after he starred on Strictly Come Dancing. At the time, Wallace was paired with professional dancer Aliona Vilani, who went on to lift the Glitterball Trophy twice

during her tenure on the show. In a resurfaced clip from their rehearsals, the TV cook could be seen boasting that he doesn’t wear underwear. The pair are rehearsing when a move sees his

pants nearly split; looking down in shock, Wallace then reveals to his dance partner that he isn’t wearing any pants. After her disbelief, he told her: “I never wear underwear. I wear socks,

I haven’t worn a pair of pants since I was about 17 years old.” According to The Sun, at least one member of staff made the situation clear to Strictly bosses and held meetings with them

over his behaviour in 2014. An insider claimed: “The situation around his behaviour was made very clear to Strictly staff. “It included sexual comments which made people feel incredibly

uncomfortable. It created a very strained atmosphere backstage.” The source told the outlet: “As I understand there were a number of meetings to discuss the issues. “In the end, Wallace

remained on the show but not for much longer, given he was eliminated so quickly.” They added: “Why did Strictly bosses allow Wallace to stay on the show? That’s one of the many questions

the BBC must now answer.” In the wake of the allegations, Wallace has since denied behaviour of a sexually harassing nature, after 13 people came forward last week with allegations of

inappropriate comments. A statement from Banijay UK read: “This week the BBC received complaints from individuals in relation to historical allegations of misconduct while working with

presenter Gregg Wallace on one of our shows. “Whilst these complainants have not raised the allegations directly with our show producers or parent company Banijay UK, we feel that it is

appropriate to conduct an immediate, external review to fully and impartially investigate. “While this review is under way, Gregg Wallace will be stepping away from his role on MasterChef

and is committed to fully co-operating throughout the process. “Banijay UK's duty of care to staff is always a priority and our expectations regarding behaviour are made clear to both

cast and crew on all productions, with multiple ways of raising concerns, including anonymously, clearly promoted on set.”
