You can enjoy a lavish experience when a luxury train visits Huddersfield next month.

A tartan-kilted piper will play an early morning lament as one of the world’s most luxurious trains glides gracefully into the town’s train station. A red carpet will be rolled out over the

platform as passengers board the gleaming 1930s Pullman-style Northern Belle.

By the time the train starts to set off, at 7.50am, on Thursday, July 17, passengers will already be sipping their first glass of champagne ready for a three-course brunch. The historic

train will set heading to Edinburgh.

A spokesman said: “We won’t only be taking people to Edinburgh, we will also be transporting them back to the golden days of rail travel. To an era when nothing was too good for the pampered

passenger.” Formerly part of the iconic Orient Express group, the train even has its own resident musicians to serenade passengers during the six-course evening meal with wine which will be

served on the way home from Scotland.

And to add an extra touch of magic, a conjuror will be getting up to his tricks as he wanders from table to table through the train.

Tickets

Passengers will also have the option, once the train reaches Edinburgh, of travelling on to visit the former Royal Yacht Britannia which is berthed nearby at Leith. Fares on the train start

at £365 - you can find out more and buy tickets here.
