who were last seen with him "cannot be located". The inquest into the 19 year old's death is taking place today (May 21) at Preston Coroner's Court, presided over by

senior coroner Dr James Adeley, who also oversaw Nicola Bulley's case two years prior. As proceedings commenced this morning, Dr Adeley informed the court that neither Lucy Law nor Brad

Hargreaves, who had been accompanying the Oswaldtwistle bricklayer in Tenerife and attended the NRG music festival on the Spanish island last June, could be traced before the inquest. The

coroner stated that both individuals, who could have been crucial witnesses in the inquest, had "denied who they are" ahead of today's hearing. Dr Adeley told the court that

Lucy and Brad "cannot be located", adding: "We can't find them. They have denied who they are and we have had police looking for them but we can't find them.",

reports Lancs Live. Jay had attended an event at the NRG music festival in Playa de las Americas before travelling to an Airbnb in the Rural Parc de Teno in the north of the island on June

17 last year. He attempted to return to the flat where he was staying with friends in Los Cristianos on foot, before going missing. Sadly, after a four-week search, Jay was found dead on

July 15 in the Juan Lopez ravine, near to the remote village of Masca in Teno. The body of Jay was positively identified using a 'palm print', confirmed Cheryl McGowan, the senior

fingerprint expert at Lancashire Constabulary, who matched the print with police records and stated it's "it's definitely a positive identification". During the inquest,

Home Office pathologist Dr Richard Shepherd recounted the various post-mortem changes observed, noting: "There were extensive changes due to decomposition. There were changes due to the

period of time he was lying in a hot environment - changes I would expect to see in that period of 28 days or thereabouts." _GET ALL THE LATEST AND BREAKING NEWS IN LEEDS BY __SIGNING

understanding why Jay died" and illustrated how it indicated "the application of considerable force". He further suggested that "The pattern of injuries is entirely

consistent with a heavy fall from height." Describing the critical nature of Jay's head trauma, Dr Shepherd added: "The injury is so severe that I have no doubt at all that he

would have been rendered immediately unconscious. "The injury which Jay suffered would have had an immediate and devastating effect," stated Dr Shepherd, confirming the fatality

of the incident. Dr Shepherd then concluded that the cause of death was a head injury, highlighting a CT scan that showed "a severe fracture of the head". The inquest also heard

that Spanish authorities have determined the cause of Jay's death to be a severe traumatic brain injury. _GET ALL THE LATEST AND BREAKING NEWS IN YORKSHIRE BY __SIGNING UP TO OUR
