Vernon kay fires dig at 'missing' rylan days after warning him to 'behave'

Radio 2 host Vernon Kay playfully joked his colleague Rylan Clark has gone missing, following a warning to "behave himself" after his Eurovision Song Contest antics. Rylan, 36, was

part of the BBC's presenting team for the music competition held in Basel, Switzerland last week. Vernon humorously suggested that Rylan had disappeared since the event and

wouldn't be hosting his usual Radio 2 Saturday show today (May 24). He informed his listeners: "Rylan hasn't been seen since Basel so our old pal Richie Anderson hosts from

three til six on Saturday afternoon." Previously, Vernon had cautioned Rylan to "behave himself" before he presented the Eurovision semi-finals. Rylan and Scott Mills, who

were providing commentary for the event, mentioned they were meeting a musician named Vincent Gross, reports the Manchester Evening News. Scott clarified that they'd be meeting Vincent,

whose track is titled 'Drinking Wine Feeling Fine', and they planned to be "drinking wine and feeling fine" themselves. He reassured listeners that they would be ready

to present the show the next morning at 6.30am, despite Rylan jokingly suggesting he wouldn't be. As Vernon was about to start his radio show, he asked Rylan and Scott if this was where

the "trouble starts," to which Scott responded it had "already begun". Rylan then quipped: "If only you knew Vern." Vernon playfully remarked to Rylan:

"No, I don't need to know, Rylan, but I'm using my imagination." At the end of their conversation, Vernon teasingly told his mate Rylan to "behave" himself

while in Basel, only for Rylan to cheekily retort that he's "doing nothing wrong, alright?" The amusing interaction comes amid Vernon's quips about being consistently

outnumbered on domestic decisions. He shared his frustration on air when a potential new family member was shut down by his wife, Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly, and two

daughters, jokingly grumbling that he "always gets outvoted three to one". On his Radio 2 show, a listener's tale of acquiring rare-breed livestock sparked Vernon to muse

comically about expanding their own brood with farmyard creatures, especially interested in backyard chickens despite being repeatedly rebuffed at home. Vernon explained: "I fancy

chickens. Yeah, but it's been put to a vote many times in our house, and you know, it's always three to one." Upon hearing this, his colleague responded with a simple:

"Yeah, a veto." He further elaborated on his losing battle for household decisions, lamenting, "And then if it's something the other way, what the girls want, it's

always three to one in their favour. You know what I mean? Like, 'No, Dad, we're not having any more junk." Continuing the humorous rant, he added: "'We're not

having a radio-controlled aeroplane runway in the back garden, alright? Chill out, Dad'. What about chickens?'No', coz there's like: 'I'll end up cleaning

them."
