In an unexpected overhaul of their daily programming, ITV is set to ditch the standard time slots for Lorraine and Loose Women from January 2026. The shake-up will extend Good Morning

Britain's broadcasting by 30 minutes to fill the airwaves from 6am till 9.30am. Under the new schedule for 2026, Lorraine Kelly’s programme will depart from its regular hour-long 9am

slot in favour of a reduced timeframe from 9.30am to 10am, but only on a seasonal rotation for 30 weeks annually. In periods when Lorraine isn't airing, GMB will stretch from 6am right

through to 10am. Further alterations see Loose Women continue an hour-long episode from 12.30pm, yet similarly running seasonally for 30 weeks per year, reports the Express. Kevin Lygo, the

managing director of ITV Media and Entertainment Division, said: "Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to

continue to deliver a schedule, providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust, as well generating savings, which will allow us to

reinvest across the programme budget in other genres." Lygo added: "These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and

regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever." The announcement for

Lorraine implies that her regular Friday substitutes, Ranvir Singh and Christine Lampard, will no longer be required. Additionally, it was revealed on Tuesday that ITV Studios will cease

production of Good Morning Britain, with ITN taking over the reins instead.
