Man stabbed in the chest in the street in middle of the day

A man was stabbed in York in the chest on Tuesday afternoon. Police raced to the Walmgate area of York at 12.17pm after being called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service. There, they found a man

with a stab wound to the chest. He was rushed to hospital and a white tent was erected by officers investigating the scene. North Yorkshire Police said it believes the people involved know

one another and the wider public is not at risk. In a statement, the force said: "Police were called by the ambulance service to an incident in the Walmgate area of York at around

12.17pm on 3 June 2025. A man was taken to hospital with a suspected stab wound to his chest. "A cordon was put in place while officers examined the scene of the incident. Enquiries are

ongoing to trace the suspect involved in the incident. "Officers believe the people involved are known to each other and although of concern and alarming to the people who witnessed
