Magic rock's 'new chapter' as huddersfield brewery saved

Huddersfield brewery Magic Rock has been saved after it confirmed it had shut down last month. Concerns about the firms futures were first called into question when security staff were seen

put up a short notice on the gates which said: "Sorry we are closed till further notice. Thanks." It was then expected that Magic Rock was set to call in administrators, with a

'notice of intent' to appoint administrators reportedly filed by a legal firm on behalf of In Good Company, owners of Magic Rock Brewing Co. Magic Rock then confirmed it was

closing down after almost 10 years. In a statement posted to its Facebook page the business said: "After an incredible nearly 10 years, it’s with a heavy heart that we say goodbye as

Magic Rock Taproom closes its doors. "From the very beginning, our journey has been fuelled by passion, creativity, and, most importantly, the amazing community that has supported us.

"Though this chapter comes to an end, the memories, friendships, and the magic will live on. Thank you for making the last 10 years so special." Now, it Magic Rock has announced it

will teaming up with Keystone Brewing group after having to close their site in Willow Park Business Centre, Willow Lane. In a fresh post to its Facebook page on Thursday, January 30, Magic

Rock said: "Since 2011, Magic Rock has been inspired by local brewing traditions and the vibrant US beer scene. You all know about our passion for vibrant and flavourful brews, our

love of our community and our passion for beer that everyone can enjoy. "Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances the Magic Rock brewery has had to close. But, today we’re pleased

to announce that Magic Rock will be joining the Keystone Brewing Group portfolio. "Joining some of the most renowned brands in the beer industry such as the likes of Black Sheep,

Purity Brewing and Brick Brewery and BBNo to name a few. "The extensive care and attention put into each and every one of our brews remains the same. Our heart remains in Huddersfield

and the long-standing relationship we have with our amazing homeland. "We’re excited for this new chapter and look forward to continuing to produce exceptional beers and champion the

communities we love. We invite you to join us on this next phase of our journey. "With love, Team Magic x" Magic Rock's Birkby base was a popular venue for fans of craft beer,

as well as a base for various pop-up food outlets, and has been busy in the past when Huddersfield Town play at home. Several people posted their well-wishes in the comments underneath the

post. Among them was Omar Pal, who said: "Great News - made my day good luck I hope it all works out!" And Matt Chambers wrote: "At least it will be saved but I hope it does

not go the same way as some of the others. I have not seen too many breweries which have been taken over by larger ones and not maintaining the quality that people appreciated." But not

everyone was convinced. James McNair wrote: "Sold your soul. Left the little guys hanging just like Black Sheep and all the others. Never to be seen in my pub. Thanks for the early

days but you’re gone." Meanwhile Elliott Day wrote: "Huddersfield water was what made the beer, I'd be interested to hear the tale as to why this brewery failed. It has
