champion's most seasoned campaigners is not getting carried away with the hype surrounding the opportunity to be just the second ANL side to achieve such a feat.

Vice-captain Shelby Miller has been a part of all three years after the demise of Tassie Spirit when Netball Tasmania entered a deal to rejoin the competition with the Collingwood Magpies.

Rival Victorian Fury have defended their title on five occasions that included wins in 2008 through to 2010 and again from 2013 until 2016.

Miller said recording their moment in time is not a motivation for the Magpies.

"I think everyone wants to be in the grand final at the end of the day," she said.

"That's the goal playing at this level of netball and we've all set our goal towards that.

"However, I don't think we can look at it of what could happen like getting two in a row. You have to look at more as one step at a time, take Saturday as it comes and see what happens from

there."

Miller admitted the weight of history is "added pressure".

freshen up has the Magpies facing NSW Waratahs in a semi-final for the right to meet either the Fury or Canberra Giants in the grand final on Sunday.

The Tasmanians won the state's inaugural national netball crown last year after first beating the Waratahs on Saturday and claiming a one-goal win over hosts Canberra.

"It's really not like we can prepare for a grand final in a week," Miller said.

"If we win, we've got one night to prepare for it. It's quite a different preparation to most other grand finals."

The Sydneysiders took out both of the week five clashes by one and four goals each.

The narrow losses came after the Magpies won seven of their opening eight games.

"It was probably a good thing for us going in losing first to them," Miller said.

"Our team discussions after that weekend were we are not playing where we wanted to be. We just weren't performing how we wanted to.

"They are definitely a team that we can beat and we really do believe in that."
