‘little big shots’ is sunday’s ratings hot shot

NBC’s _Little Big Shots_ continues to be the big news on Sunday nights, though CBS dominated primetime overall in total viewers and the demo. NBC’s kiddie talent series was the night’s No.

1-ranked primetime telecast among Big 4 broadcasters in the demo (2.0 rating) and overall audience (12.1M), excluding CBS’ Masters golf overrun. The series climbed 11% week-to-week in the

demo and 6% in overall audience, marking its second week of total-viewer climb. The Steve Harvey-hosted _LBS_ built by 150% on its lead-in — an _LBS_ encore — among adults 18-49 (2.0 vs.

0.8), and 108% in total viewers (12.1 million vs. 5.8 million). The reality ratings gem is up 100% versus NBC’s time slot average this season prior to its debut (2.0 vs. 1.0), excluding

sports and trophy shows, and 181% in overall audience (12.1M vs. 4.3M). At 8 PM, the moppets managed to edge out sports-overrunning CBS, and at 8:30 the tots clobbered eye network’s _Madam

Secretary’s_ late start. That sophomore drama nonetheless finished the night the top scripted broadcast in viewers, with an average of 9.4M, and in the demo (1.1), which was flat compared to

its previous regularly scheduled episode March 20. WATCH ON DEADLINE The 7 PM hour appears to have been controlled by CBS (2.1, 12.8M) with its golf tourney and newsmag _60 Minutes_, last

night featuring a segment on China’s exploding film industry. Those ratings are tentative and subject to change, owing to the live sportscast. (From  7:30-8:30 PM, the newsmag averaged

11.75M and 1.6 in the demo, early stats show.) At 9 PM, dueling comedies on NBC and Fox tied in the demo with 1.1 ratings each, including NBC’s _The Carmichael Show_ (1.2, 5.7M) and

_Crowded_ (1.0, 4.3M), as well as Fox’s _Family Guy_ repeat (1.2, 2.5M) and _The Last Man on Earth_ (1.1, 2.7M). CBS took the hour in total viewers with a drama mash-up of _Madam Secretary_

overun and _Elementary,_ clocking a collective 7.7M viewers (and a 0.9 rating in the demo). At 10 PM, CBS’ _Elementary_ took the hour in tonnage (5.8M viewers), while NBC’s _Dateline_ won on

the demo (1.1, 4.8M viewers) with a report about twin sisters who find their mother murdered in their Georgia home. CBS emerged from the primetime skirmish with a winning 1.3 rating and

9.3M viewers. NBC followed closely in the demo (1.2) and not so in total viewers (6.9M). ABC followed with a 1.0 demo rating and 3.8M viewers, followed by Fox’s 0.9 rating and 2.1M viewers.
