SIR ROD STEWART CANCELLED A GIG JUST HOURS BEFORE HE WAS DUE ON STAGE, WITH FANS SHARING THEIR THOUGHTS AND WELL WISHES FOR A SPEEDY RECOVERY 08:54, 03 Jun 2025 Sir Rod Stewart has sparked

health concerns after cancelling a gig at the last minute. The Glastonbury headliner, 80, told fans he would not be performing in Las Vegas yesterday afternoon. He wrote on Instagram:

"I am sorry to inform you that I'm not feeling well and my show tonight at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is being rescheduled to June 10. Your tickets will be valid for the new

date. Sir Rod." One fan wrote: “Get well Sir Rod,” with a heart emoji while another said: “Praying you recover before Glastonbury!” He is set to perform on the Sunday in the legend

slot. It comes after the music legend’s family surprised him at the American Music Awards where they presented him with a lifetime achievement gong. Rocker Rod was forced to cancel a string

of dates last year, also at The Colosseum, after a bout of Covid-19. He told disappointed fans: “Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I'm absolutely gutted.” The

Maggie May singer has said he is finishing "large-scale world tours" after the end of his shows in Europe and North America this year. That doesn't mean he plans to retire,

though. Article continues below He said on Instagram previously: "This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire. "I love what I do, and I

do what I love. I'm fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 metres in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79. "I'd like to move onto a Great American Songbook, Swing

Fever tour the year after next – smaller venues and more intimacy. But then again, I may not..." Before then, Sir Rod will play the Sunday teatime legend slot at this year's

Glastonbury. The big news was announced last November. It will be his first performance at the iconic festival since he headlined the Pyramid Stage back in 2002. Speaking at the time, the

hitmaker said: "I'm proud, ready and more than able to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June." The singer has been in the industry for decades, and has sold

more than 250million records and singles worldwide. Article continues below Last year, he released Swing Fever, which was a collaboration with Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues

Orchestra. He hit the No1 spot with it, making it his 11th album to do so. WANT ALL THE BIGGEST SHOWBIZ AND TV NEWS STRAIGHT TO YOUR INBOX? SIGN UP FOR OUR FREE DAILY STAR SHOWBIZ
