love’ and ‘happy’ with pop star partner Jess Glynne - and wants to have kids. Alex, 40, says she hopes her success at work and in a relationship with flame-haired Hold My Hand singer Jess,

35, will help break down boundaries so future generations ‘won’t have to fight like I’ve had to all my life’.

The broadcaster - a former Arsenal footballer - and lifelong Gunners’ fan Jess have been an item since 2023. Alex has said she wanted to keep the relationship private for as long as possible

because she knew it was ‘special’.

‌ Now she has admitted she wants to start a family - and wishes she had been ‘more open and accepting to love’ sooner.

“I was fearful of hurting them.

Article continues below “Everyone sees me now and comments on how happy I am – in love and life.

“And it’s because I’ve done the work on myself to allow someone in.

“I’d tell my younger self to be more open and accepting to love.

that, in the future where hopefully I have kids, they won’t have to fight like I’ve had to in my life.

“Then they can just go out and live life full of joy.”

‌ She said past relationships had included ‘amazing experiences’ and ‘tough times’.

But she added: “It’s helped me develop into the person I am now, which is happy within myself, and allowed me to be free.

“I’m in a very good place now. I’m in love and I’m happy.”
