THOUGH MID-MAY HAS SEEN TEMPERATURES DROP DRAMATICALLY, THE UK IS SET FOR ANOTHER HEATWAVE AT THE END OF THE MONTH AS THE MERCURY IS SET TO JUMP ANOTHER 10C AS WE GO INTO SUMMER 05:41, 22
May 2025 A sizzling 27C heatwave could be back on the cards, promising a welcome reprieve from the downpours and strong gales this week. Brits have been grappling with a dramatic weather
flip-flop, as plummeting temperatures and relentless downpours put a dampener on May's balmy beginnings. Southern England has been particularly hard hit with gloomy clouds and rain
showers, a trend set to persist into the weekend as the mercury dips to 17C. However, the latest weather charts hint at a whopping 10C surge as the next heatwave gets ready to roll in.
Netweather's maps are forecasting another scorching wave of heat sweeping towards the UK by month-end, with most regions feeling the burn by May 31. The chart reveals London and the
southeast of England basking in highs of up to 27C. In total, around 45 counties spanning English and Welsh metropolitan districts could enjoy similar peaks between 23C and 25C. Northern
areas like North Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire might see comparable highs. Article continues below This blistering 27C heat is predicted to snake its way up the coast, starting from
London, passing through Nottinghamshire and reaching West Yorkshire. The map suggests this hot streak could stick around until June 1. The Met Office's long-range forecast, spanning May
26 to June 4, indicates any warm spells will likely be disrupted by "blustery showers" in certain areas. The forecast reads: "Sunshine and blustery showers for much of the UK
on Bank Holiday Monday, with the heaviest and most frequent showers in the northwest. "The southeast will likely end up driest and brightest. Temperatures are expected to vary from
below normal in the northwest to above normal in the southeast." The forecast continues: "Through the rest of this period, changeable conditions are expected with weather systems
moving in from the Atlantic, these bringing outbreaks of rain and strong winds at times. Wettest conditions are likely to be in the west and northwest, conditions driest in the sheltered
east and southeast. "Some dry, bright interludes are likely between systems. Temperatures are expected to be close to average or slightly above." This forecast comes on the heels
of a rare Met Office tornado warning, with agency representatives attributing the unusual weather patterns and "funnel clouds" to the current weather conditions, stating the UK is
presently experiencing an "unstable atmosphere" prone to extreme weather events. The spokesperson informed the BBC: "Funnel clouds and small scale tornadoes are possible in
the UK in the sort of weather set up we have at the moment, with an unstable atmosphere and warm surface temperatures from the prolonged dry spell and strong sunshine. "Any tornado
would only be small scale and there is no warning. The risk is now diminishing as temperatures cool into the evening." Article continues below _FOR THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS AND STORIES
