May 2025Updated 18:21, 21 May 2025 A cop ended up in ‘pain and discomfort’ after being assaulted - with an Andrex toilet roll. The loo paper is known for being ‘soft, strong and very very,

long’ according to its advertising blurb. But it was tough enough to leave PC Alex Camenzuli nursing a reddened face after Mischa Fawbert whacked him with it, a court heard. Fawbert, 23, was

fined £80 and ordered to pay the bobby £50 compensation, £117 costs and a victim surcharge at Crewe Magistrates Court after admitting assaulting an emergency worker. PC Camenzuli and a

colleague were called to her apartment in Congleton, Cheshire, on February 21 over concerns for her welfare. When the mum-of-one failed to answer the door they forced their way in and found

her in bed. PC Camenzuli said: “While attempting to leave the room the defendant has come to me swinging her hands at me. “She hit me to the right hand side of the face with her hand. She

was holding a roll of toilet paper. “It caused immediate transient pain and discomfort.” His male colleague said Fawbert had ‘charged’ at his fellow officer wielding ‘toilet paper’ and

landed a blow that caused ‘reddening to his face’. As she was arrested Fawbert said: “I threw the toilet roll at you because you were egging me on.” Taryn Reay, mitigating, said police

attended for a welfare check and ‘entered the property on their own’. “Miss Fawbert was struggling to get out of bed,’’ the lawyer said. “She lunged with the toilet roll and let it go. She

was triggered by being in bed with two male police officers in the bedroom. “It was a distressing situation for everybody involved. Her emotions were extremely high. “Comments were made

about her flat. Her emotions were high and at the time of the offence she was at a low and reached out for help. “She accepts grabbing the toilet roll and lunging towards the officer and

striking him to the face. This is going to be a matter for a police complaint. She does not feel that the officer handled it very well.” Miss Reay said her client, who had never been in

court before, apologised for her ‘outburst that morning’ and was receiving help for trauma she had suffered as a child and adult. Article continues below JP Andrew Kerr told Fawbert: “We are

very pleased that you are getting some support. “However the police officer did receive an impact to his face which resulted in reddening which is an unacceptable situation.”
