THE FORMER FOOTBALLER AND PUNDIT WAS MAKING HIS LAST APPEARANCE FOR TNT 13:29, 01 Jun 2025Updated 14:45, 01 Jun 2025 Laura Woods paid an emotional tribute to Rio Ferdinand as he hung his mic
at TNT Sport. But that was only after the Manchester United and England legend had left her frustrated as she warmed up for live coverage of Saturday's Champions League final. Poplar
presenter Woods was rehearsing at the Allianz Arena in Munich ahead of the big match between Paris-Saint Germain and Inter Milan. And as the 37-year-old was speaking, the former defender
wandered in front of the camera. That prompted Arsenal fan Woods to say: "F******* hell Rio," before she burst out laughing. She later posted the clip on her Instagram page with
the message: "We’ll miss you, Rio (excuse the language!)." He walked in front of her mid-sentence as she said: "PSG are going for their first ever Champions League trophy.
Could they do it? Let's find out in the company of.... f***** hell Rio." Article continues below She then said: "That was going to be some of my best work." Oblivious, he
said: "Oh sorry, s***." She giggled: "I wish that was live." In the build up to PSG's thumping win in Germany, presenter Woods offered a nod to it being a poignant
night for her colleague. The TNT star offered a moment for Ferdinand to reflect. She asked him on air: "Rio, you've just been taking it all in, haven't you?' "Yeah,
I have," he replied. "I've been in the city for three days now. It's been a bit of a lads' tour. We've been loving it." And Ferdinand - who appeared
alongside ex team-mate and former Rangers boss Steven Gerrard - went on to deliver a gracious speech, paying tribute to those he'd worked with on and off he camera. "I just want to
say thank you to everybody that I've worked with," he said. Article continues below "My job was made a lot easier by the great people and friends that I have worked with and
will remain friends for many years. "As important as the people you see on the screen are the people behind the screen that do all the jobs to get us here and enable us to put our best
foot forward are all appreciated. "Again, thank you to everybody who has been a part of it."
