ready to step out of his legendary father’s shadow and be a success in his own right. The Ibrox club are set to make a next boss call on Ancelotti or Russell Martin in the early part of next

hunt backed by 49ers Enterprises technical director Gretar Steinsson. Former Southampton boss Martin is also understood to have impressed in interviews. Martin was sacked by Saints in

sounded out while Steven Gerrard took himself out of the running after talks. The new boss will be backed to the tune of almost £20m under the new owners’ initial investment. They know the

clock is ticking on getting a squad in place and ready to hit the ground running with the qualifiers for the Champions League just 51 days away. Rangers players return for pre-season
