MORE THAN 5,000 BT CUSTOMERS HAVE LOGGED COMPLAINTS ON DOWNDETECTOR THIS MORNING WITH MOST PEOPLE STRUGGLING TO ACCESS THEIR EMAILS WHILE OTHERS ARE HAVING BROADBAND CONNECTIVITY ISSUES
10:23, 15 Feb 2025Updated 14:19, 15 Feb 2025 Thousands of BT customers have been left in the lurch this morning as the service has experienced a significant outage, with many unable to
access their emails and others facing broadband connectivity issues. Downdetector has seen over 5,000 complaints lodged since the early hours of 5am, with the majority of grievances centred
around email access problems, while a number of customers are also struggling to get online. Frustrated clients have been reaching out on X to get answers from the broadband giant, with many
reporting that they've received no recognition or update regarding the outage. One customer reached out to BT saying, "Email servers are down and there is no response on your
chat. What is going on? ", while another demanded, "Why is BT Mail down and nothing appearing on your website to acknowledge? " A third chimed in with, "Hi. Pls can you
explain why when your email service is down there isn't a pinned message on here to tell us what the problem is and when we might expect it to be fixed? ". Article continues below
In a conversation with another customer who was also locked out of their emails, one user expressed their frustration: "Annoying, isn't it? ! Got onto emails fine this morning,
then got a message saying 'please wait for the messages to load' or something, then the DNS server error message. Can't find a way to sort it either. Deleted cookies, flushed
DNS... nothing is working. Servers must be down." Downdetector's statistics indicate that the bulk of the issues are related to email services, with 92% of reports being about
difficulties accessing BT email, followed by broadband at 7%, and the company's website at 1%, reports the Mirror. A BT spokesperson said: “We’re aware that some BT email customers are
unable to access their email on webmail and via the app. We’re investigating the cause of this and we’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”“Alternatively, customers can switch off wifi and
use mobile data to access their email. No other BT service is impacted.” Article continues below At around 2pm BT said the issue had been resolved. The spokesperson added: "A BT
spokesperson said: "Earlier today some BT email customers were unable to access their email. The issue has been resolved and we’re very sorry for any inconvenience caused. No other BT
services were impacted." JOIN THE DAILY RECORD WHATSAPP COMMUNITY! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily
